A new Ferrari model, the Ferrari 430 Scuderia, is now on glorious display at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. The vehicle was actually a special series model conceptualized from the F430. It is an extremely high performance beast as a two-seater Berlinetta. The technology used was derived from Formula 1, making the model part of the F430 and F430 Spider in Ferrari's eight-cylinder model range. Michael Schumacher, who has been part of its development at different stages, officially unveiled this newest Ferrari model.This year has been an impressive time for Ferrari, as they were able to attain an aggressive financial perspective. It has been justified with the 14% increase in their revenues by the first half of the year. And, it is also expected to rise up to 15% at the end of the year. It has been modified to attain about 114 hp/L to 118 hp/L. There has been an optimization in the inlet ducts and exhaust system. It was adopted from the exhaust geometries derived from the F430 Challenge.A new piston design gave way for the increase in the 430 Scuderia's compression ratio reaching up to 11:88:1.The 430 Scuderia is equipped with the F1-SuperFast2, an evolution of the F1 gearbox. It reduces the gear-shifting time to 60 ms. And, it is the fastest time in the Prancing Horse range and the lowest overall in any automated-manual gearbox. It is integrated with E-Diff2 and F1-Trac system, which demonstrate the 430 Scuderia's links to the track. They offer 40% more acceleration compared to traditional traction and stability control system.The great impression on the 430 Scuderia's braking system has been boasted by the featured CCM (carbon ceramic material) discs. Together with 6-pot calipers, it provides blistering performance and consistently efficient braking in prolonged track use.Aside from aerodynamics, the 430 Scuderia comes with astonishing style and personalization. The weight has been reduced with the extensive use of carbon-fibre in several parts and bodywork components. This turns the Ferrari model as an absolute sporty car with luxury and prestige.

The New York International Auto Show is already ongoing and since the minute that the doors opened to the public, the venue has been filled with auto journalists, experts, car fans, and just anybody who was interested in looking at what the auto world has to offer this time. Auto makers had also made sure that everything which they would be setting on display would be in top form so much so that they could earn the trust and the attention of consumers who are in the market looking for a vehicle to purchase.BMW is one of the car makers who have constantly been joining the New York International Auto Show. This brand has been bringing with it some of its topnotch vehicles and has been setting on display the best and the coolest that they have ever created. Two of the vehicles that BMW has brought with it to the NYIAS are the 2008 M3 convertible and the Concept CS unit. Both vehicles are described to be elegant by the auto maker. The concept showcases flowing lines, precise vanes, as well as the silhouette of Mazda's corporate grille. It also boasts of the huge fighter-style canopy and deep air intakes ahead of the rear wheels. The engineers at Volvo are no strangers to cutting edge safety systems. In 2006 the Volvo S80 could be outfitted with Collision Warning and Brake Support alerts. The systems sent visible and audible cues to the driver when the gap between his car and the one ahead tightened up too rapidly. In addition to the warnings, the brakes were prepped for use, but the driver's foot still had to do the work. Now, the Volvo XC60 crossover, set to go on sale in Europe this summer and coming to the United States in 2009, will be outfitted with City Safety, technology that will not only monitor the gap between cars and prep the brakes, but if necessary, do the braking itself.Using an optical radar system built in to the windshield at the same level as the rear view mirror, City Safety monitors ahead of the car to a distance of approximately 20 feet (six meters). Intended for low-speed, bumper-to-bumper driving at rates of under 20 mph, the radar will pre-charge the brakes when the gap begins to get tight so the driver can respond more effectively. If, however, a collision is imminent, City Safety uses a hydraulic pump to activate the brakes on its own.The unit's algorithm runs fifty calculations per second, constantly determining the necessary braking speed to prevent a collision, factoring in both the car's speed and the distance to the car ahead of its position in the lane. When the calculated force needed to brake exceeds a pre-determined level and the driver has not physically responded by tapping the brakes, City Safety concludes that a collision is imminent and intervenes. The system will work during the day and at night, but can be limited by weather conditions including fog, mist, heavy rain, or snow. Sensors in the windshield will alert the driver if dirt has built-up to a level that will compromise the unit's ability to scan the road ahead.Statistics compiled by Volvo indicate that more than 75% of reported collisions actually occur when the vehicles involves are moving at speeds of less than 20 mph. The company's engineers optimistically predict that the City Safety system has the potential to reduce such low-speed collisions by as much as 50%. Cases that go on for years tend to be big news once they get fully investigated and a jury arrives to a conclusion based upon all the evidence brought to the court room. The American legal system is one of the best in the world however it is not perfect and when it comes to cases which handles matters of laws things can get pretty complicated and legal battles can extend for years. Lets take a look at a recent case which has grabbed people's attention due to the parties involved and because this case had to be handled by the supreme court of Georgia.It was February of 1999 when Anne M. Gibson was traveling through Clarke County driving her 1985 Mercury Marquis, all of the sudden the owner of a Toyota truck hit the back of her vehicle causing a fire which ultimately killed Anne. Normal death conditions taking in consideration this was a car accident, this is what some people think however the investigation presented by James E. Butler and the plaintiff shed new light as to the reason this accident resulted in a fiery car crash which took the life of Anne.The parties involved in such case were Ford Motors, the co-defendant Draw-Tile (a company which manufactures trailer hitches) and obviously the husband of the victim. The argument presented by the plaintiff's attorney was that the way Anne's car was designed made the gas tank very vulnerable during a rear collision, the co-defendant Draw-Tile was involved because the trailer hitch which was present during the time of the accident had dangerous bolts which may have punctured the tank which ultimately resulted in an intense fire.After a prolonged deliberation the Supreme Court of Georgia upheld the 13 million dollar judgment against this giant automotive company which refused to produce to the plaintiffs lawyers a set of crash test results. This case was decided in March 28, 2008 and shall be referred to as the "Ford Motor Company vs Gibson" case.Georgia Supreme Court Justices had to handle the case due to the number of appeals filed by the plaintiff. This just comes to show that big companies can take a case to the bitter end regardless of human loss, fortunately for Mr. Gibson the Justices agreed with previous court rulings.

I don’t know about you, but with gas prices the way they are, I’m struggling just to survive. I’m a single mom with four kids, a mortgage, auto loan etc.Spending hundreds of dollars a month on gas for my car is absolutely ridiculous! What really gets me mad is, not only have the oil companies driven the price of gas up, they are in co-hoots with the auto makers and the Federal Government to keep automobile engines running inefficiently by manipulating the fuel to air mixture ratio to convert the fuel you put into your car into only 25% actual energy for movement and the rest is unburned and blown out your tail pipe.This inefficient burning also is bad on your engine, thus ensuring failure within twelve to fifteen years, if you’re lucky.When I found out the technology currently exists to create a gasoline/water hybrid that would cut your fuel expenses by 50%, I was furious.I’m not talking about hydrogen fuel cells either. I’m talking about a very practical and inexpensive system that separates the water molecules into what is called Brown’s Gas which mixes with the gasoline and allows it to burn more efficiently, drastically improving gas mileage while reducing engine wear.Did you know that you can actually build one of these systems and install it in your vehicle in less than a day? And for under $150.00?I was shocked to hear about it as well but actually saw it in operation. My neighbor added it to his car a few months ago and cut his fuel cost by 80%.You don’t have to modify your engine either. In fact, you can remove the system in under three minutes…not sure why you would want to though.I’ve installed one on my car recently and it really was as easy as my neighbor claimed it to be. I’m a woman who has trouble changing a light bulb so if I can do it, anyone can.I’ve seen a drastic improvement in engine performance, no more knocking and my fuel mileage is way better.
